i was just talking to thenyxie about adam, and about how while i do love the bejesus out of him for his sexy filterless diva qualities, i have Many Thoughts in my music nerd brain about him. i love music. i've made an informal study of music for a long time and if you have Thoughts about adam's musical skills and stratagems, you should comment below.

as an appetite whetting, here are three songs adam usually performs (two covers and one original) that have been totally rearranged just for kicks. because when you're a musician and not just a performer, you do amazing shit like this for funsies.

1. that's one of my favorite things about him. look at him make shit up and switch it around and throw random stuff in just to see if it works. unbelievable. i can hardly imagine what that slowed-down WLL is gonna sound like when he takes it on tour, you know? once he's found all the sweet spots. HNGH death to us all.

2. his tour is going to be a big fucking deal, you know? i'm not surprised it's taking time to figure it out - what he can afford, how much he can get away with, how balls-out he can make some songs and where he can dial it straight down into something gorgeous. planning! effort! detail! and all in order to provoke a reaction in an audience that thinks they know what to expect from him. do want.

3. anybody who thinks adam can't connect to songs needs to sit down, listen to broken open and SHUT. THE FUCK. UP.
