thanks to some lovely fiction provided us by rageprufrock and writings_from, i'm thinking of sam, and here's the thing:

sam is HARD.

stop it. perverts.

he's a difficult character, is what i mean. he's a cute sweet earnest muppet, but he snarks and bitches like nobody. he obviously has some serious Issues with dean, might like to kill him some days. but i don't doubt for a second that he doesn't feel half as bad about that guy dying at the hands of that reaper as dean does. he's got moral issues with credit card theft (ostensibly) but when it comes down to it, he'll jack a car if he has to. when it comes to celine demon, sam is vengeance incarnate, but he won't let dean off a human being. he draws this line in the sand.

all sam's lines are in the sand. sometimes i wonder if dean doesn't know himself a hell of a lot better than sam knows himself. i wonder how solid sam's lines are. i wonder if he thinks about this visions thing a lot, or if he just ignores it and hopes it goes away. i wonder how much of it is that he's young, he's only 22, and i wonder how much of it is that he's got. y'know. ISSUES.

i want more fic that lets all these contradictions and weirdnesses stand. sam is fluid, it's impossible to pin him down. it's. i dunno. it's HARD.

this all may lead to sam & dean fic. i think, maybe. *chews*

violetsmiles, darling that she is, has noticed a dearth in our fandom. for a while, sn_newsletter provided us with all the fic, articles, news, pictures, interviews, vids and icons that were fit to print, but of late, marecagee has been awol due to problems with her internet (or so i understand). now, i don't know about you guys, but i REALLY need a newsletter. otherwise i miss stuff i wouldn't usually see, and who even likes that? nobody.
