i don't know what they're trying to accomplish with this, but there is a proposed bill in ohio that would require women who want abortions to get the permission of the baby's father.
well. for our next political trick, we'll be voting on a law that suggests that women's minds and souls are their own, but their bodies will belong to the government for the good of society.

Date: 2007-08-03 02:01 am (UTC)And if abortion were even the real issue for them, maybe they should do something useful that might cut down on the number of cases where women felt like they had to have abortions? Like work to lessen the ever-widening gap between the incomes of the poor and the rich in this country, stop trying to eliminate sex education in schools, stop trying to get rid of access to contraception and promote funding research into better contraceptives, and work to promote the equality of women? This just shows that it's not even really about abortion for them, it's (probably solely) about putting control over women and over reproduction in the hands of men.
