stargate atlantis 4.03 AND 4.04
okay, this is just out of hand. rodney says "i thought there'd be more hot girls" and john says, seeming confused, "yeah!", and then they both look around and all there is is john, rodney and a BIG PULSING STARGATE? SERIOUSLY? christ's sake.
and in other news, ronon is the hottest thing in the history of ever the end. he hugged that wraith-worshipper when he killed him because ronon is, one more time, the best thing in the history of creation. also, rodney's sad little stealing of the painting when he thought ronon was going to leave forevers, lookit. aw.
if teyla could please have something to do from now on that isn't being attacked or molested in some way, that'd be fine. maybe there could be more beating ronon with sticks until he talks about his feelings? i would be in favor of that. mona and i have decided that if teyla and ronon could please have some nice welcome-to-atlantis/back-to-atlantis wild animal fucking that was really nurturing and then totally have it be assumed between them that it didn't mean anything but friendship, that'd be cool.
dexter 2.03: an inconvenient lie
dear god i love this show. "don't talk that way about my girlfriend." and masouka being all overwhelmed by everybody, and DEB of all people putting the pattern together. i can't wait for them to run that check and watch the names lighting up all over the board. i love that doakes has found a resolution that makes him happy, that makes dexter happy - i want them to go for beers and talk about dex's dark passenger, hee hee. i love that rita feels threatened by the new girl (lilah, is it?) and that she's obvs gonna go into catfight mode. wee little rita and the minivan, going all mama bear over her man, the serial killer. BWEE, sweet jesus on a bicycle, this show rules.
more on shows as i watch them.
and finally, i know you're all dying to hear about
winchestercon. this will be the squee portion of our review, and the Serious Business will wait until later.
we got to go to manhattan beach pier, which was really nice. i don't remember the last time i saw the pacific ocean before this, so it was really good to go down there and lean out over the water with all the fishermen (which, really? in LA? okay, man, it's your GI tract). there were those coin-operated binoculars and gulls everywhere, surfers and beach volleyball and. it was just super nice. and i had brownie pie after supper, which might be the best thing i have ever had in my mouth. i made everybody eat some, it was that good.
i drank too much, i smoked too much, i hugged a dozen dozen girls and i sang i will survive and wayward son and bohemian rhapsody at the top of my lungs with them because that is how we roll. we closed out the hotel bar, made friends with all the wait staff (they brought us COFFEE blessed coffee) and i even sat and talked like a perfectly civilized person with people who write john/dean. YES I DID. SUCH IS THE MAGIC OF FANDOM.
anyway, it is intensely nice to be home now, and i missed all of you terribly.
finally, if any of you are on warbook, there should unquestionably be a fangirl alliance. comment below.

Date: 2007-10-17 05:47 pm (UTC)in other news, SGA seems to be competing with SV for world's gayest show, but no, seriously, max. they were IN JOHN'S DREAMS. they used to be in rodney's dreams, to battle the monster, but then they went into john's instead. and they were all dying to get hooked up to the machine to save each other, and the bad guy looked like john, and. just. seriously.

Date: 2007-10-17 02:06 pm (UTC)I love the humour in this show, the way it lulls me into a false sense of security. The way dexter falls on his feet despite himself. And Christ, dexter's confession at the meeting. Yipes.

Date: 2007-10-17 05:40 pm (UTC)L.A. Beach! \o/ I didn't go, because I've been to the beach a bazillion times (I'm West Coast, not so far inland), but maybe I should have just because the beach where I've lived is gorgeous and pretty damn frigid. :0 Darn those Alaskan currents!

Date: 2007-10-17 07:46 pm (UTC)Your hugs were wonderful! And your thinky-thoughts! And I too had civil conversations with at least one John/Dean person, largely because we didn't discuss that. Kind of like politics or religion-- sometimes, there's a lot of common ground so long as you don't touch on the major areas of disagreement. If only the world at large could remember this. *sigh*
Seagulls... do you find them creepy? How about in quantity? I know I do. :0

Date: 2007-10-18 07:50 pm (UTC)I know at some point I mentioned the Jensen-is-so-repressed-he-doesn't-masturbate story, and you seemed kind of interested, so here's the link: For I Have Sinned (http://miss-begonia.livejournal.com/146313.html). My journal is mostly f-locked, but I unlocked that so you could read it easily. Of course, if you'd like to friend me you're welcome to, but no pressure. =)

Date: 2007-10-21 02:02 am (UTC)My moment of contemplation was Rodney sandwiched between two Johns, soaking wet, with a background of--Moby Dick.
...seriously. That was just--truly. Inspired.
...then I blacked out watching John versus John. Guh.
