I swear I didn't breathe all the way through this. You're very good at conveying the tension. I'm very interested in this Giles, and I was always interested in how Spike got this hurt (with him it seems to be nothing about playing, but everything about intense deep need coming from huge pain (on that sliding scale, he's way past center)), but mostly, I just want Xander to make it better. That's so Xander, deciding to just do it and muddle through. And I wonder whether Xander realizes that he's already stepped way past the line of just doing the right thing.
