Or, Things Which I Now Know About Dean Which Could Have Been Much Better Addressed In The Actual Episode Except Apparently We Were Much More Interested In Hamming Up The Love And Racially-Motivated-Crime Grief:

1. Dean does not do the talking about the feelings thing, except with Sam.

2. All this time that Dean has been poking Sam about whether or not he'd ever been honest with the people in his life, it's been only partially about getting Sammy to sign on with the family mission, and at least partially about figuring out whether he was the only one who broke the rule.

3. He is a good kisser.

4. He appreciates a woman as strong as he is. (Come on, we knew this. And not that she was, but she looked it sometimes.)

5. He owns a pair of sunglasses clearly chosen because they are reminiscent of the Terminator.

6. He can tolerate just about any amount of bullshit that Sam can dish out.

7. He thinks sex is fun. That girls are fun. The finger-point at the coughing, hello.

8. He looks really good in snow.


And. Things I Now Suspect About Dean, etc, etc.

1. He learned about love from Cassie, and in a sense, still loves her. But in that way you always remember your first love: knowing for damn certain sure that it wouldn't be the same now, no matter how much you wanted to think otherwise.

2. He doesn't want to talk about that with Sam for a LOT of reasons, none of which absolutely have to be Wincesty.
     2a. ...although they totally could be.

3. He was the best sex she'd ever had. Sorry. That's Jensen.

4. He forgets to be pretty when he's kissing. Sorry. Jensen again.

5. He was seriously kissing that girl. Seriously. They yelled cut and he didn't listen. La la la.

6. He will never, ever hear the end of this.

I watch the show on the phone with my gf and we firmly believe that Sam was all "I'll wash that bitch right out of your mouth" at the end and then it cut to AFTER the blowjob where Dean's mouth was all bruised and he was tired from all the head he gave to his brother. *nods*

I loved the 'oh god' and walk-away every time Sam tried to get all talky-touch-feely. Heeee!

Since Dean is only 26 - right? - and presumably he fell in love with this chick a couple of years before, so - young, first time he's ever *really* felt close to sombody in his nomad existence... I could totally see him falling for her and wanting to come clean and be *himself*.

But i totally *didn't* see any sort of left-over love on either part, just lust and some deep affection. He's not *really* in love with her anymore, just the idea. Just like Sam was head-over-heels in love with Jess, but i put a lot of that down to his age and circumstance and in another couple years i think it'll fade. Guilt will keep him trying to avenge her, but his true lurve is...

I hesitate to post this on my own journal because I have been spammy lately, but I just about died during the last part, in the car? Because when Sam asks him if it's worth it and Dean doesn't answer, but the lyrics of the song in the background at that exact moment? Yis. That is all.

And rewatching the smex scene - there is really no focus on Cassie at all. It's all about Dean's face and Dean's body and even when she's in the light, Dean's the one doing all the action. ...I seriously wonder about the WB and this is supposed to be a show for the guys too? Okay, I stop now.

Except Dean doesn't even have to talk much. He's just that transparent to Sam. I may have watched the scene when they're in suits and talking about his relationship with Cassie . And Dean only gives up a of actual information, and Sam just knows the rest from Dean's avoiding. So great.

I've not posted more in depth meta type stuff in my journal yet, and between this and your comments on Papa in Kassie's journal, I'm doing a whole lot of head nodding. I really wanted to like Cassie, but she was kinda blah. She could have been so kick ass if she wasn't too busy posing and not!emoting. I think it was a mix of crappy acting/writing/directing that rang the death tolls for that character.

JENSEN FORGETS TO BE PRETTY WHEN HE KISSES!!! That was the hottest thing in this episode, aside from the lip-bite and the hissing when she licked his nipple. I mean, he was totally into kissing and was all like, "Why the hell should I worry about being pretty? I'M KISSING HERE! FUCK THE PRETTY!" Which, of course, makes him hotter'n Hades.
