doing noms for the lawrence awards reminded me what a kickass author eighth_horizon is. i'd read her And Fools Shine On but i hadn't got round to If Belief Were Enough, which is the sequel. well i have now, and damn, people. if you haven't read either series yet, get on it. there's also an au off one chapter that's slash, plus two sort-of-epilogues.

second. someone commented to the monday post of the newsletter yesterday with a link to her fic. the phrase "gen porn" was in the header, and i admit i. uh. wha? it was all very confusing. but i was promised porn! so i soldiered on. Night Moves by researchgrrrl is dean/ofc - HET, THAT IS RIGHT - and gen porn or no gen porn, it is funny, sweet, hot and totally in character. fun and frolic, people, you know i love it, and OH MY DEAN. i smish him. he wins at fricking everything.

i wanted to let this hate meme thing go, i really did. this post will be followed with silly, fun, drool-inducing picspam, y'all take heed.

however. it appears that some people out there - some women that i may not consider my close and personal bosom compatriots, but whom i nonetheless have experienced as valuable, decent people at their hearts - that they have been hurt by the pack of idiots out there who decided it was their mission to liberate the internets from the dictatorly rule of the dreaded BNFs.

there's nothing i can do about the fact that my friends are hurt. that saddens me, but i know where to pick my battles. i offer contact and continued love to them, and i pick my target.
