Or, Things Which I Now Know About Dean Which Could Have Been Much Better Addressed In The Actual Episode Except Apparently We Were Much More Interested In Hamming Up The Love And Racially-Motivated-Crime Grief:

1. Dean does not do the talking about the feelings thing, except with Sam.

2. All this time that Dean has been poking Sam about whether or not he'd ever been honest with the people in his life, it's been only partially about getting Sammy to sign on with the family mission, and at least partially about figuring out whether he was the only one who broke the rule.

3. He is a good kisser.

4. He appreciates a woman as strong as he is. (Come on, we knew this. And not that she was, but she looked it sometimes.)

5. He owns a pair of sunglasses clearly chosen because they are reminiscent of the Terminator.

6. He can tolerate just about any amount of bullshit that Sam can dish out.

7. He thinks sex is fun. That girls are fun. The finger-point at the coughing, hello.

8. He looks really good in snow.


And. Things I Now Suspect About Dean, etc, etc.

1. He learned about love from Cassie, and in a sense, still loves her. But in that way you always remember your first love: knowing for damn certain sure that it wouldn't be the same now, no matter how much you wanted to think otherwise.

2. He doesn't want to talk about that with Sam for a LOT of reasons, none of which absolutely have to be Wincesty.
     2a. ...although they totally could be.

3. He was the best sex she'd ever had. Sorry. That's Jensen.

4. He forgets to be pretty when he's kissing. Sorry. Jensen again.

5. He was seriously kissing that girl. Seriously. They yelled cut and he didn't listen. La la la.

6. He will never, ever hear the end of this.

I loved the 'oh god' and walk-away every time Sam tried to get all talky-touch-feely. Heeee!

The suits! The suits of uptight door-to-door-religious-pestering! Love. Them.

Since Dean is only 26 - right? - and presumably he fell in love with this chick a couple of years before, so - young, first time he's ever *really* felt close to sombody in his nomad existence... I could totally see him falling for her and wanting to come clean and be *himself*.

But i totally *didn't* see any sort of left-over love on either part, just lust and some deep affection. He's not *really* in love with her anymore, just the idea. Just like Sam was head-over-heels in love with Jess, but i put a lot of that down to his age and circumstance and in another couple years i think it'll fade. Guilt will keep him trying to avenge her, but his true lurve is...
