Ohmygod, Danny. OHMYGOD. It took me over 4 hours to read this, and my god, it was worth it. My reaction, after the initial squee, went like this, "OMFG! *flapflail* EEEEE! *flailflail* OMYGOD! *flapflapflail*" Sorry, not too helpful.
I cannot believe that, at the time you decided to write it, you knew nothing about Japan; it's hard to believe it when your story (novel? Novella?) takes the reader so deep into Japanese culture and tradition. It took my breath away, the plottiness, and the Japanese-ness of it all (don't mock; your story killed my brain ded), and the sensual, sexy scenes (which they were, rawwwr). I can't even -- *flail*
It's amazing and awesome and wonderful and it blew my mind and made me giggle and made me sniffle at times and, at the end, it made me all wilty and pouty over it being over, because seriously, that's just not fair.
And I'm sorry this isn't very deep, but your story kind of made my brain go 'sloidy, so, you know, once I find a new one, I'll maybe have deeper things to say.
you're such a dear, thank you so much. yeah, i didn't know ANYTHING about japan when i started, so i'm so happy it came through, y'know?
there are deleted scenes and a full gallery in the dvd extras, including a floor plan of kasho takai - if that kind of thing turns your crank like it does me. :D
thanks again for reading, sugar. fb like this makes it all worthwhile. <33333
I had to look up a LOT "" of words on Wikipedia, despite actually knowing some things about feudal Japan, so yeah. :)

*grabby hands* Yes please gimme I WANTS it, precious. Because yes. I saw joosetta's illustrations, so now I want more. Please.
did you have to look up words that weren't in the glossary?
*facepalms* No, I had to look up words because I didn't realise there was a glossary. But: shogun and Kanrei. And, you know, various names to put faces to them because I was pretty sure you didn't just pull them out of thin air. :)

I actually had a weird-ass dream last night about French-speaking kitties. I don't even know where to start with that. *eyeroll*
