so here i am with
iykwim &
toomuchplor, and we are watching supernatural on the giantest tv known to man. no seriously. we have seen sam's chest/towel scene, and it is gargantuan.
ANYhoo, here's a question for you. are these all of the visions sam's had, or can you think of any more?
- 1x01: Pilot (Jessica)
- 1x09: Home (Mary)
- 1x14: Nightmare (Max)
- 1x21: Salvation (Baby Emily)
- 2x05: Simon Said (Andy & Weber)
- 2x09: Croatoan (Anti-chesters)
(ignore the parentheticals, they're for my own usage.)
in other news, edmontonians rule. and watching a cat try to chase a mouse pointer across a projection screen is JOY.

In Simon Said, he also had more than one -- the death of the Doctor, the death of the biological mom, and the death of the girlfriend. (The last one didn't happen.)
He only had one in Crotoan -- seeing Dean shoot the guy -- but he didn't (as I recall) see Dean shoot the mother or the nurse.
As far as we know, he only saw Jessica's death -- although he saw it mutliple time. The Same for Baby Rose -- same vision, multiple times.

the visions come from the demon, right? that much seems clear. so, if they're not what's special about sam - if they're superimposed on him, like - then what's special about sam? what can he DO? what was the demon testing/pushing for?
these are the questions pinging around in my head. it's easiest if you start at croatoan and work backward.
croatoan: test immunity to infection
simon said: test immunity to other Children's abilities (double blind - those the demon had influenced in formative years, and those it hadn't - sam passed both)
salvation: ?? (same as in home, only without mary and with the demon made manifest?)
nightmare: test for ability to develop spontaneous powers (was it shooting for telekinesis specifically? did sam absorb max's power?)
home: ?? (spirit summoning? test strength against demon itself, when it had him pinned to the wall?)
pilot: ??
