It's complicated. I was very young when I started watching M*A*S*H, and images of my father and Hawkeye are all mixed up in my head. I have superman/christopher reeve issues for the same reason.

When I finally saw the latest Superman, I managed to get through almost the entire movie (with my dad, of course) before bursting into tears. Just because he was there, and it was superman, and it was perfect.

i haven't actually seen it yet, but i'm told routh bears a really eerie resemblance to christopher reeve at times.
